02/26 - St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival
The 2012 St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival will be held on February 26, immediately following liturgy. Everyone is invited!
The St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival provides a tremendous learning opportunity for our children – not only do they research and learn about their faith, they actually think about it and share their thoughts with others. In so doing, our children deepen their understanding of their understanding of their faith, strengthen their tie to their faith, and enlighten others with their thoughts (not to mention gain public speaking experience).
The Oratorical Festival Program begins at the parish level and is divided into three divisions:
- Elementary Division for students in grades 3–6. This is a non-competitive division held at the parish level.
- Junior Division for students in grades 7–9
- Senior Division for student in grades 10–12.
All participants are winners! Additionally, the top 3 speakers in each division will receive monetary awards. The top speaker in each division is also invited to the Metropolis Oratorical Festival which will be held this year in Austin, TX, March 23-25.
